Trivia for this Episode
This episode originally premiered as a special presentation on Saturday, August 28, 1993. The following Saturday on September 04, 1993 was a "special sneak peak" episode of "Food Fight." Starting Monday September 06, 1993 was the weekday "premiere" for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers starting with "Day of the Dumpster" and new episodes in order, hence the promo links on the left.
The scene where Rita blasts the teens with her wand briefly shows the original pilot version where the Rangers had different clothes, and Trini was portrayed by Audris Dubois.
Footage mostly adapted from Zyuranger episode 01 for the Ranger battle and clips from various future episodes for the Zord battle against Goldar. Clip by clip breakdowns are available at SirStack's website.
In one frame, the Zyuranger Battle Bikes are shown by mistake. Although they were marketed as Power Rangers toys, the first Ranger bikes wouldn't be until the Shark Cycles in season 03.
Throughout the season are 70 different additional short scenes with Rita and her crew that were filmed in Japan specifically for "Power Rangers" to use to help fill in gaps between scenes and help with dialogue dubbing named by fans as "Zyu 1.5" which even had the Japanese actresses for Rita (Machiko Soga) and Scorpina (Amy Kawaii) return. A thorough guide to Zyu 1.5 is available on John Green's grnrngr.com website.
